At Moran Law Offices (“the Firm”) we take the security of your information seriously. We recognize the importance of privacy, the sensitivity of personal information and are committed to protecting any personal information we hold. Our Privacy Policy describes how we manage your personal information and safeguard your privacy.

 

Use of our Website:

 

When you access this site you are not required to provide personal information such as your name, address, email address, telephone number or other information that might reasonably be used to identify you personally (”Personal Information”).  The Firm will only collect Personal Information when it is provided to us in an email, on a registration form, in an online survey, or in other similar transmissions.  The Firm may also receive Personal Information from a Third Party in connection with legal services we are retained to provide on your behalf.

 

We may use certain technologies, such as cookies, to gather non-personal or generic information that does not reveal your identity, in order for us to monitor this site and to help us improve this site.  If you wish, you can choose not to accept the cookie by adjusting your Internet browser settings.

 

How Personal Information is used:

 

The Firm will use Personal Information if providing legal services and advice to you, which includes for billing purposes, after an attorney-client relationship has been established. We may use your Personal Information to send you information about our services or to provide you with new developments in the law.  At any time you may contact us and tell us that you no longer wish to receive direct marketing or informational communications from us and we will not send any further material.

 

The Firm does not disclose your Personal Information to any third party, except as follows:

 

  • You give your consent to the disclosure of Personal Information;

  • We believe that we are compelled to the disclosure for a legal or regulatory reason;

  • We believe that the legal services we are providing require us to give your information to a third party;

  • When it is necessary to collect fees; or

  • When the information is already a matter of public record.

 

Security:

 

Security over the internet is not guaranteed to be secure, nor is any internet security system completely secure. The Firm cannot therefore guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us or provide to us online.

 

The Firm has established a Written Information Security Plan which is maintained, reviewed annually and disseminated to all Firm personnel. The objective of this Written Information Security Plan is to ensure the privacy and protection of the personal information collected and stored by the Firm and to comply with the requirement of MGL Ch. 93A and 201 CMR 17.00. 

 

The Personal Information collected, stored and maintained by the firm is limited to that information which is reasonably necessary to accomplish the firm’s legitimate business purpose or to comply with other state or federal regulations.Access to Personal Information is limited to those individuals who are reasonable required to use such information in the performance of their duties as an employee of the firm.Other measures to insure the protection of Personal Information include:

 

  • Only authorized personnel have access to Personal Information;

  • Premises where such information is stored are locked when no authorized person is present;

  • No unauthorized removal of such information from the premises is permitted;

  • All computers and servers are password protected at all times and maintained with up-to-date firewall protection, OS updates and security updates;

  • Policies are maintained for proper disposal of Personal Information in accordance with MGL Ch. 93I; and

  • Policies are in place in the event of a security breach.
